The mentally-ill often hide their problem/s from the world—I hid my Depression and Anorexia too. But after realising that this serves only to maintain its stigma, and make sufferers feel more isolated, I decided one day to write a post on Facebook. From Australia, it found its way to a Californian Forensic Psychologist who asked for me to have my own page, "inside-anorexia.com" on her website. Having battled with an eating disorder, exercise addiction, chronic anxiety and extreme insecurity, I've become an analyst of particular trends our society upholds that encourage these unhealthy mentalities. I write articles to raise awareness in hope of changing minds, lives and futures.
Lauren is a compelling young writer who describes anorexia recovery from the inside. Her blog is brand new, but her first post received over 500 visits--a number that doubled with her second post. Frank and insightful, she is a passionate advocate for anorexia awareness. — Kate
