Christina Mathewson

Patient Leader

As a survivor of Placenta Percreta and needing a massive blood transfusion of 134 units, it is my desire to spread awareness about Accreta - reaching out to women while they are going through this high-risk pregnancy condition, spreading awareness to help prevent unnecessary c-sections, increasing radiological skills, encouraging doctors to speak with their patients about the long term risks of c-sections and repeat c-sections as well as raising awareness of the importance of increasing blood donation to help save mothers. My overarching message however is that I don't want any mother to go through this very scary condition alone.
