I am a diabetes patient advocate & peer leader, & the creator/author of the widely-read blog, Diabetogenic. I present regularly at conferences around the globe speaking about the importance of patient-centred care & considering the patient perspective when developing resources & activities for people with chronic conditions. An active member of the global diabetes online community, I co-founded the #OzDOC tweet chat specifically for Australians with diabetes. I'm well-versed in social media, its influence on people living with health conditions & its application in peer support. I live in Melbourne with my husband, daughter & pets, & drink too much coffee. All done while wearing stripes!
I don't have diabetes, but her blog has made me more interested and aware as her articles are always engaging and insightful. She is an amazing advocate for people with diabetes and deserves recognition for her wonderful body of work. — Nhi
