I have been the ICAN President for a little over 2 years and have served on the Board of Directors for almost 3 years. Cesarean Awareness is a great passion for me. Women should go into childbirth with informed decisions and education. The truth is first time mothers are not made aware of the risks of a cesarean. ICAN and myself are advocating to help broaden the education to reach the birthing mothers so that they can be knowledgeable when making birth choices.
ICAN is an amazing non profit organization whose mission is to promote cesarean awareness. They also offer support to moms who are recovering from c-sections and promote the safety of VBAC vs. Repeat unnecessary cesarean section. They have chapters all over the US and in many other countries that are ran by volunteers. — Allison
This organization has done so much for women since it's inception many years ago. I have watched it grow. It is desperately needed with the horribly high C-section rate today. — Bonnie B
