VeganOstomy

Patient Leader

My name is Eric, and I have a permanent ileostomy as a result of Crohn's Disease - and I eat plants (vegan since 2000). It was this unique combination of circumstances which led me to create the VeganOstomy blog. Since launching the site in 2013, I've been an advocate for all ostomates, offering product reviews, tips and information on living with a stoma. I love being active in the IBD/Ostomy community, and I feel so fortunate to be able to give back to the community that has given me the strength to push through my illness over the years.

When I was down in the dumps due to the prospect of having an ilieostomy, I only seemed to find negative attitudes on a lot of forums. I discovered Veganostomy on YouTube and things started looking up for me. His videos are well edited (ie very watchable) and his attitude and enthusiasm I found contagious. It was a recipe I needed at that time.  — Chris
