I am a 28 year old, HIV negative, gay man. With the advent of PrEP and confirmation of TasPs efficacy, HIV/STIs, sexual health and sex in general have returned to being an omnipresent conversation. As a member of one of the most affected communities, and as Mr LA Leather 2014, I write articles, hold PrEP/PEP/Prevention panels throughout the US and Europe, and am deeply involved in alleviating HIV & LGBTQ stigma and misconceptions. PrEP, PEP, TasP are biomedical HIV transmission prevention methods, that have become the turning point in this 30 year long epidemic. I have recently changed my career path to be able to commit myself 100% to the task at hand.
Eric has used his title "Mr LA Leather 2014" to educate on the benefits of PrEP. He is a driving force in de-stigmatizing this HIV prevention and fighting ignorance and bigotry. It is my opinion that when we are see a major reduction in sero-conversion we will be able to look directly at Eric and say "You did it! This is what one person can do." — Doug
Eric has been fighting Stigma and Decriminalization of HIV in the USA since becoming Mr. LA Leather. He's also an activist for PrEP, going around the country doing panels to raise awareness and discuss the topic. He's recently joined the US National Task Force to Decriminalize HIV and is the Director of Sexual Health and Education at Kink.com. — Carlos
