Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a diagnosis that sends a parent into a tailspin when they find out that one of their own is struggling with it. There are numerous studies dedicated to investigating its cause and it is one of the top ten most studied disorders. Many, or most, will agree that parenting is not easy – especially parenting a child or youth struggling with ADHD or mental health challenges. As both a professional (and a mother with "that kid", Karen works relentlessly with children and youth, wrote the book "ADHD is Not a Four Letter Word" and started "everyday ADDvice" magazine in an attempt to shatter the stigma associated with ADHD and mental health.
