Patient Leader

Upon diagnosis with breast cancer in 2010 at age 36, I knew that a big part of my life's journey would be to educate others on the importance of early detection and to support others on their breast cancer journey. From being in a 2011 national breast cancer awareness campaign for General Mills called Pink Together to being selected to be a State Leader, F2F Coordinator, Survivor Link Mentor and Council of Advisors member for YSC to becoming an Education Ambassador for Bright Pink to becoming a 2017-2018 Young Advocate for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, I want to help not only give people the best chance to survive against breast cancer, help those who get that diagnosis the tools to thrive.

It’s important to not only be an active participant in your health decisions and to give yourself the best chance to not only survive breast cancer, but any other health condition you may be dealing with. I forward on information to others that will help them create early detection/prevention strategies and inspiration to life the healthiest life.  — Katie
