My mission is to get people moving! Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of exercise and the empowering feelings that come with it. Regardless of your age, you need to move regularly and make healthy food choices. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with many amazing organizations that specifically help get kids moving and eating better. In 2005, I was hired as a high school Health and Nutrition teacher in South Central LA. During this time, I had the opportunity to help develop an After School Nutrition and Exercise program called SOS Shape Up. The SOS Mentor organization's Shape Up program helps children learn about food and exercise through a structured mentoring component. SOS Shape Up helps get kids moving, and as a part of the program, requires them to teach their families and local elementary school children too! In 2008, I began working with Students Run LA, a marathon training program that prepares thousands of middle school and high school students to run the Los Angeles Marathon. I had the privilege to coach a team for 3 years. Through this experience, our student athletes learned the importance of exercise, in addition to goal setting and commitment. In 2013, I released my first fitness DVDs, entitled Take 20!® Vol. 1 and 2X2 Conditioning® Vol. 1. In 2014, I'll be releasing Volumes 2 and 3 of both of these programs. Take 20!® DVDs are designed to provide you with short, effective workouts that fit into busy schedules. I'm excited to release a special BONUS: Fit Kids workout on Take 20!® Vol.3. 2X2 Conditioning® is an inclusive workout designed to accommodate and encourage those of all fitness levels. The workout takes you through alternating 2 minute bouts of strength training and cardio conditioning for a total body workout. Options are given throughout the program, so a beginning exerciser can work right along with a more advanced fitness enthusiast. I continue to teach group fitness classes in my local area, teaching everything from indoor cycling to cardio kickboxing. I also work training other instructors to teach specific formats, including ViPR Group Fitness 3D and Athletic programs.
