Best Kept Secret Rookie of the Year

At 27, I became a mom and 10 days later learned my mom has ovarian cancer and is BRCA+. Then learned I am BRCA+. I made it my mission to help parents learn about family health history and to start a conversation with their children about how to be proactive. I wrote a Children’s book, “Mom’s Genes” and a blog “Proactive Genes”.  — Shannon
