I’m Rachael Rose (she/her) and I’m a queer, polyamorous, chronically ill and disabled sex educator, graphic designer, event organizer, and speaker. My work in sex education focuses on an inclusive, sex-positive, and pleasure-focused approach to sexual health and the intersections of chronic illness, disability, and sexuality, as well as general sex ed subjects, polyamory, and more. As chronically ill and disabled individuals our sexuality is often treated as an afterthought, and everyone, regardless of their abilities, deserves to have the sex life they want. As someone who has Indolent Systemic Mastocytosis and severe fragrance sensitivities, I also spend a lot of time educating folks about making fragrance-free and scent-free spaces part of their accessibility policies and how to do that. In addition to presenting about sexuality nationally and internationally, I’m the creator of the award-winning blog, Hedonish (hedonish.com), and the co-founder of Glittergasm Events (glittergasmevents.com), an event company that hosts inclusive and accessible sex-positive parties for the queer community. Outside of sex education and hosting sex-positive events, I also have a BFA in Graphic and Advertising Design from Pratt Institute, and I run a small design company, Genetic Lemon Creative Studio (geneticlemon.com), as well as an Etsy shop, Shock and Awesome Co. (shockandawesomeco.etsy.com), where I sell sex-positive designs and apparel. You can learn more about my work with chronic illness and disability and how they intersect with sexuality at hedonish.com or follow me on Twitter @hedonish.
