Fabulous and Fatigued

Patient Leader

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia twelve years ago. I remember not knowing how to spell or even pronounce it, let alone knowing what it meant to have to live with it! Tears rolled down my face for two reasons – the relief that I finally discovered the cause of my excruciating pain and the realization that I was going to be in the same pain for the rest of my life. Fast forward twelve years, I’ve had my share of struggles, disappointments, and frustrations. It’s difficult having an invisible illness – being in a place where nobody can ever tell how it impacts you on a daily basis, yet it affects every single decision you make in your life. I’ve come to realize that I consider it to be a blessing, and a curse at the same time.

In less than a month, Sara has painted a uniquely honest image of what living with a chronic illness looks like and manages to do so with so much grace. She educates through her personal struggles and motivates chronic illness warriors to speak up about their own struggles.  — Maham

She’s an inspiration  — Waleed

For someone to have such an impact on mine & many of my friends’ lives in such a small amount of time is commendable. Her platform not only made the people with chronic illness seen & heard but also gave people with anxiety and depression many tactics on how to cope with certain situations. I always look forward to her blogposts & learn SO much!  — Mahnoor

Sara has been such an inspiration for so many of us! Her hard work and dedication in spreading awareness about such matters is what we all need! She is strong, brave, a beautiful and humble person, and very deserving of this award.  — Ramla

I nominate Sara Naveed form Fabulous and Fatigued for her work on raising awareness about fibro patients, working to end the stigma surrounding mental illness in chronic illness patients and providing motivation and inspiration for those struggling with chronic illness and their families.  — Cheery-maria
