Charlie Pomroy is the British Charity Globalteer's first Sports Coordinator in Cambodia. With the space of a year he had taken the project from a couple of teenagers knocking a ball around on a dirt wasteland to a huge, year-round event featuring soccer and volleyball tournaments, a mini-Olymics, girls empowerment sessions (with one of our students getting scouted by a national team!) and much more. With Charlie as the coordinator, supported by a small but fantastic local and international voluntary team, the Globalteer Sports Project reaches out to more than 2,000 kids consistently. Sport is presented as a fun opportunity which can lead to professional employment, career development and a healthy lifestyle, breaking out of the barriers which poverty creates for the young generation of Cambodians. His boundless energy, love of sport and passion for sharing inspires the most timid and motivates the most talented. The Sports Program would not be a success without him.  — Lisa
