My name is Caraline, I am 27 years old, I live in Durham North Carolina, and I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at age 19. I love crafting, watching old movie/musicals, baking cookies, anything soft (like blankets and socks), but most of all I love advocating for and supporting my fellow chronic pain warriors. When I was first diagnosed, my only priority was to find a new doctor who could treat me without using harsh medication and without having a bad attitude. When that was almost impossible to do I became my own advocate, I educated myself to the best of my ability, I tried lots of new treatments, and soon that’s when it all began to click. Helping others is something I have always been passionate about so when I started accumulating all this knowledge and tips and tricks, I knew I had to share it with others. Just like that, my YouTube channel The Living Tree was born! I love being able to share everything that I’ve learned so far and sharing my experiences with others who may need that information the most. In 2018, I became a Fibro Youth Advocate for the Fibromyalgia Care Society of America and I have had the wonderful opportunity to reach out to so many young people who have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. My goal is to continue to better myself, to keep growing and learning, to continue to share my truths about life with Fibromyalgia through the good days and bad days, and to always be there for my fellow spoonies.
My name is Caraline Shedd and I make content on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook about my journey with Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed in 2011 and at that time, there were very few if any young people speaking about life with chronic pain. I have chosen to be the honest and positive influence I needed during diagnosis for anyone who shares my story. — Caraline
