A diabetes advocate since before the "DOC" and on-line support came to be, I have chaired many national advocacy programs including JDRF's International Children's Congress, JDRF's International Goverment Advocacy Program and JDRF's Outreach program. I was named JDRF's 2007 International Volunteer of the Year. I am author of "The Everything Parents Guide to Juvenile Diabetes" and "Raising Teens With Diabetes: A Parent Survival Guide." My blog-- www.despitediabetes.com focuses on the positives in raising a child with diabetes to be a happy, successful adult. A recent post on the White House fainting incidence got nearly one million hits in a week.
Moira's online presence runs deep and her voice is so authentic. She's really been there and worked to help others who are dealing with similar issues in the type 1 diabetes world. — Sally
