I’m a woman living with HIV and Black Girl Magic. Diagnosed in 2003, I didn’t see other people like me being represented in the decision making discussions around how services were chosen and programs implemented so I started asking a lot of questions and showing up to a lot of meetings until I learned why certain systems were set up the way they were. It has been my mission to dismantle systems that support stigma and fears towards an HIV diagnosis. I have a 14 year old daughter who is HIV negative and I want her to stay that way so any advocacy I can do from creating physician dialogue tools to modernizing outdated laws that criminalize people loving with HIV, I will do it.
