Terri’s diepCJourney Facebook group about breast reconstruction after mastectomy is an amazing resource for patients interested in DIEP flap breast recon. as well as support for those who are undergoing this complex but life-changing operation. She moderates the FB group offering support & information, & is incredibly supportive & helpful!!!

As a 2-time breast cancer survivor Terri shows unwavering support to those following in her footsteps by tirelessly providing breast reconstruction education so that patients can become fully aware of ALL their surgical options. Education is the key advocacy and Terri takes patient advocacy to a whole new level.

Terri and I attended Project LEAD training together last July. I learned just as much from Terri as I did from the training. Her community which encompasses many forms of social media educates breast cancer survivors about options for reconstruction, shared decision making, patient support and patients having a voice. Terri = Advocate  — Kirstin

Terri is the penultimate patient advocate. She's changing the lives of thousands. Most of whom have had - or are in the midst of having - profound impact from breast cancer personally or through a loved one. She's systematically educating and shifting the landscape for breast reconstruction with a much needed candid and personal touch.  — Randy

An unofficial patron saint of breast cancer patients seeking dignity after mastectomy, Terri is a tireless spokesperson. She works to provide education to both patients and surgeons who perform the procedures. Terri brings a new, refreshing perspective that's invaluable - pairing her compassion with her social media to drive education.  — Cinde

Terri personally reached out to me, as she has with many others. We happen to both live in the same town, she even met for lunch AND in TX! She meets with doctors, hospitals & practices to keep exploring and finding for us, what is available for breast reconstruction. Not sure where I would be without her solid support - emotionally and medically.

Terri has created a tasteful and informative online site that includes and encourages people from all over the world. Most importantly, the information shared is accurate and incredibly helpful for those of us that have entered the unknown journey of breast cancer, and are exploring the options of reconstruction. She truly deserves this award!  — Beth

Terri is a fierce patient advocate. She extends her reach far and wide to make sure breast cancer patients and survivors are aware of all reconstructive options.

Terri has helped thousands of women through their journey with breast cancer and reconstruction. She has created a community in which women can share their experiences, fears and successes. Terri has included in this group some of the best doctors in the country to answer any question that women may have.

Terri provides an invaluable service to women and men considering/going through/recovering from breast cancer and reconstruction. She has built a supportive, positive community of patients, advocates, and medical experts.

Terri’s Foundation has helped women & men across the globe and I’m grateful to be one of them! She reached out to me personally, we even met up during my out-of-town surgery, along with connecting me to two other patients there, just like me! Not sure where we would be without her getting the word out about our reconstruction options. Blessed!  — Barbara

Terri is a two-time breast cancer survivor. She discovered after a double mastectomy that less than 25% of women and men are given options for breast reconstruction. This was appalling to her and led to the founding of the DiepCFoundation.org as a means of educating patients on their options. Options Terri believes is necessary for wellbeing.

Terri has created a community on FB which offers 360 degrees of support to patients undergoing breast reconstruction following mastectomy. She has included patients, surgeons, nurses and other health professionals in her group to allow for informed decision making and deep connection and community amongst members of the DiepCJourney.  — Jennifer
