Stacey Simms

Patient Leader

My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2006, just before he turned two. Since that day, I’ve been amazed at the resilience and strength of the diabetes community. Diabetes can be a very isolating condition and making connections online & in person empower us in a way that is a vital complement to medical care. I started the podcast to help others feel that same powerful sense of “me too.” Diabetes Connections features prominent advocates, authors and speakers and includes “every day” people with diabetes and their friends and family. It's been an incredible experience for me and I'm thrilled that my listeners enjoy it!

Stacey’s podcast uses stories of real people dealing with diabetes. She provides information in an entertaining way. I am always interested to hear her guests talk about their experiences and she throws in information about her own family’s struggles with Diabetes. She not only talks the talk, she walks the walk!  — Melissa

Stacey has a fun to listen to style. Her interviews are timely, entertaining, and informative. She doesn't present faulty science or give medical advice. I love that she shares stories from her personal life. It lets us get to know her as a person who makes mistakes and experiences challenges. She not only talks the talk, she walks the walk.  — Melissa
