Patient Leader

Hello world! I’m Louise - an epilepsy, and recently, mental health advocate. Now 24, I was diagnosed at 17 with both generalised seizures, myoclonic seizures and absences, alongside photosensitive epilepsy and non-epileptic seizure attacks. I felt so alone in my battle. I created my YouTube channel to let other warriors know to embrace our condition! Creating positive videos allows my community to take a minute of their day to smile and laugh. It’s been a long journey and facing new battles, and I couldn’t be more grateful to share this with you. It's an honour to return as a 2017 nominee after being 2016's YouTube winner! Let's continue to raise awareness and end the stigma together.

Louise's videos showed me that epilepsy isn't something to be afraid of and that I can live a 'normal life' while still having epilepsy all I need to do is take precautions. Her videos get me through the hard times, they make me smile ! She is just a little ray of sunshine !  — Victoria
