I have had Type 1 diabetes most of my life. My advocacy started at an early age, speaking out against things I felt were not correct, with how i was treated in school. My current advocacy work is around programming for adults with type 1 diabetes as there's not a lot of support out there. Until there's a cure, kids who are diagnosed with T1D grow up to be adults with T1D and outreach, events, and education should not stop.
