I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in 1996, when I was five years old. My blog, The Young Face of Arthritis, is a personal narrative about the emotional side effects of being young, disabled and fabulous. I'm extremely passionate about my "rheumy" friends and ideas to elevate the patient voice. In addition to managing my blog, I have collaborated with companies like Crescendo Bioscience, Inc. and Pfizer, Inc. on topics near and dear to my heart: equality in doctor-patient relationships, support for caregivers, and emotional coping through patient empowerment. Despite my disability, I am determined not to let my RA stop me from achieving my dreams for the future.
I think that what Stephanie talks about on her blog is very inspiring to all suffering with a chronic illness and it's her positive attitude about the way she deals with RA that makes her one of the health communities Best Kept Secrets!! — Andres
