Having spent three years self-harming and struggling with auditory hallucinations, I woke up in Intensive Care having just come off life support and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for two and a half years. During my admission, I began my mental health I'm NOT Disordered and it, and my mental health, have gone from strength to strength in the last five years. I'm now in recovery and my blog has almost half a million readers. I've worked with the media and well-known organisations such as Northumbria Police and the NHS and individuals such as comedian, Dave Chawner and mental health TV star Jonny Benjamin, to help eradicate the stigma of mental health.
Aimee has devoted her time and energy in her recovery to helping others by educating people about Mental Health issues, not just Patients but also their Families, Professionals, Police and Medical Staff. Raising awareness and training them on the best way to help. Her blog is now the go to place for All for honest realistic information. — Angela
