My Invisible Life, a NFP storytelling community about living with an invisible illness or disability. I have MS and know only too well how invisible it can be. MIL was inspired by my own journey and by my friendship with a woman with ALS. At MIL we aim to: - Assists people in our community in feeling less isolated, more empowered and more connected to their world. - Provides a vehicle for those with illness, family and friends to speak out about their experiences. - Enables the wider community to grow their understanding and appreciation what it is like to live with a challenging health condition – be it visible or invisible.
As the CEO of non-profit organization MyInvisibleLife (MIL), Melinda created a platform for storytellers to demystify the stereotypes of chronic and invisible illnesses. Through this year, MIL has grown from its base, Australian group into an international group of storytellers and followers. Every story makes the invisible, visible; a true gift! — Kate Wigley
