Since my diagnosis of Primary Mediastinal Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in 2009 I have volunteered as an ambassador with The Lymphoma Research Foundation as well as worked for over a year as the Parent Consultant in the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at The Floating Hospital for Children. I have dedicated my professional and volunteer life to improving the lives of cancer patients and their families. After her incredibly difficult battle with cancer, Elizabeth now travels across the country sharing her story, giving hope and inspiration to others battling cancer. She also works at a Boston hospital as an advocate for children and their families dealing with the everyday pressures of cancer. Elizabeth's shares her experience, strength and hope on a daily basis within her work environment within the medical community, during her many speaking engagements as an ambassador for cancer research and fundraising as well as with strangers contacting her seeking just a mustard seed of hope and encouragement for themselves or loved ones. Her life was altered by her struggle with cancer and miraculous survival. She has taken that experience and is using it to make ripples, waves and a hopeful tsunami in the charge for educating people about becoming their own personal health advocate and never taking no for an answer. Elizabeth is a lymphoma survivor who beat the odds when diagnosed at age 30 with a 2 year old daughter. To learn more about her story, her article in Ladies' Home Journal Nov 2013 tells about her amazing and victorious battle. She is an inspiration to many cancer patients since she has been cancer free for 3 years. This major life changing event has totally changed her life and focus. She is working with families of children who have cancer at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center , is an active spokesperson for the Lymphoma Society and also provides patient feedback/input when the new cancer drugs are being reviewed. She believes strongly in giving back and is a health hero to many.
