Dr. Erin Michalak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UBC in Vancouver, Canada. Her background is in psychology and her research interests are in bipolar disorder, quality of life, knowledge translation, self-management and e-health, on which topics she has published over 80 papers and several books and book chapters. She is the founder and leader of the ‘Collaborative RESearch Team for the study of psychosocial issues in Bipolar Disorder’ (CREST.BD), a CIHR- funded network designed to change the landscape of bipolar disorders research and care. She lives on the Sunshine Coast of BC where she is an avid mushroom hunter and breeder of Giant Schnauzers.
