After being obese my entire life and coming to believe that I was destined to live in a depressed black tunnel, I finally discovered the secret to changing my life. The highest I recall being when I stepped on a Doctor's scale was 389 lbs., however there's no doubt in my mind that I was much higher. As a teen, I was given up by my parents to be a ward of the State and stayed in a group home until I was 18. I went to college where I was raped and decided to give the baby up for adoption. I was in several abusive relationships, including a step-father. I married when I was 25 because I didn't think anyone else would ever want me. During all of this, my weight just continued to climb and my self-esteem, continued to plummet. After 12 years of marriage I figured out I wanted more out of life, ended my marriage and started a weight loss plan. After losing about 100 lbs, I entered into what turned out to be another abusive relationship, gained all of the weight back and more. After 3 years and coming close to being killed, I escaped, moved to Florida, started the weight loss program over again and never looked back. I've lost over 200 lbs, I've become a Certified Life Coach, I sit on the Domestic Violence Advisory Council and work with young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. I lead by example, to show those who have challenges holding them back a way to overcome those challenges and move forward, beginning by changing the way they think. Little did I know for all those years, all 43 of them, that the strength was inside of me and in order to change my life, I needed to change the way that I thought about everything.
Robbyn has overcome a lot of challenges in her life and uses her life experience to inspire and motivate others to change their lives. She was overweight her entire life, tipping the scales at close to 400 lbs. She was bullied throughout school, along with an abusive step-father. She was sent to live in a group home, aged out, went to college where she was raped, became pregnant, and put the baby up for adoption. She married, divorced and then entered into a relationship with unbeknownst to her, an abuser. Just prior to meeting her abuser she had lost 100 lbs, but during their 3yr relationship she gained it back and more. When she realized she had to leave, or risk death, with the help of a friend, she escaped & moved 1200 miles away. She has lost all of her excess weight, she is not a certified life coach, she works with others who have challenges in their lives and she volunteers a LARGE amount of her time. In 2014 alone, she has volunteered well over 1,000 hours for local causes. She is a worthy candidate — Richard
Robbyn is a champion for women who have overcome adversity. She found the courage to leave an abusive relationship and then found the willpower to lose well over 100 pounds. Now she volunteers for a variety of organizations that assist women and children in need. She has raised thousands of dollars to help charities in her community. Over the last few months she has been developing her speaking skills and has started speaking at events and programs to inspire women who are facing the same challenges she has now overcome. Robbyn has the biggest heart and has helped thousands of women through her work but she will never boast about her own success. — kelly
